Alexander & Poole have a longstanding history, 44 years to date with APP and continues to be a crucial partner. With a history dating back to 1877, APP brings substantial value to Alexander & Poole as their designated local representative.

We are a proudly second-generation South African company, founded by John Poole back in 1980 and now headed by his son, Andrew Poole, as Managing Director.

Alexander and Poole – are the sole distributors of Anderson Power Products DC connectors based on the design pioneered by APP in 1953. Anderson connectors set the standard for DC power distribution and battery connections. While the Anderson connector is widely used in the forklift industry, variations of the connectors power everything from wheelchairs to golf carts and more (used in material handling, 4×4 market, solar energy and much more).

APP® connectors are designed to achieve the highest levels of durability, reliability and performance. Crimp tooling is a critical link between the designed performance of an APP ® connector and the realization of that performance by our customers.
The patented F-3 cartridge-type deioniser is the most convenient, small-sized, portable ion exchange water deioniser, which enables the user to obtain water typically lower in conductivity and total dissolved solids (TDS) than distilled water; and which dispenses wholly with the troublesome procedure of resin generation.
For many years, Anderson Airmotive has designed connectors for ground power, proven in commercial and military use worldwide, supplying rugged, simple to assemble connector plugs and receptacles to industry.
Designed to meet the requirements of SANS / IEC 60309-1+2, 1999 these moulded plugs and sockets are used in a wide range of commercial, industrial and mining applications.

All of their connectors have excellent chemical and abrasion resistance, as they are made from high quality, specially formulated Hypolon® rubber. Each connector has heavy silver-plated tellurium copper contacts with quad beams and engineered steel springs that assure consistent contact for thousands of cycles. Anderson Airmotive is the only manufacturer with a complete line of military-tested and approved Attachables®, as well as moulded-on AC and DC power plugs, cable assemblies, receptacles, and battery connectors.

Andrew Poole
Andrew Poole spent 24 years as a founding member at First Cut, a company involved in supplying cutting solutions for different industries, including the steel industry.
Today his managing role in Alexander & Poole is complimented by his role in a technology company – Tekenso. Tekenso provides a cloud based platform that is a business process designed to give manufacturing companies complete control and visibility of the manufacturing process.
An entrepreneur at heart he believes his role is to create an environment that fosters and grows innovation.

Overview and Experience
National Sales and Technical Manager for A & P, Juanita Rodrigues is used to wearing many hats, having worked in the industry from the start of her career.
Amongst many other roles, the pressured environment equipped her with mental agility which serves her well as the National Sales and Technical Manager for A & P.
Juanita, The face of Anderson Power, intends to increase the A & P market share and service a variety of targeted markets – including material handling, 4×4, alternative energy, e-Mobility and data communication, to mention a few – she aims to create a nationwide distribution channel to enhance on-time service delivery of the vast range of Anderson power products.
Despite occupying a position few women do in a largely male-dominated industry, Juanita Rodrigues has diligently developed a thorough knowledge of her customers’ businesses and of the products which will assist them in their daily operations. Through this perseverance – and by creating close and invaluable business connections via consistent customer communication and interaction – Juanita’s efforts have resulted in a distinct increase in record sales targets to date. They have also resulted in a marked improvement in Alexander and Poole’s brand awareness and new customer relationships.
